Starfox Performance difference: Original vs Junior vs Mini
Obligatory performance difference video.
Starfox and Yoshi's Island are the first SNES games with Super FX chips to get official re-releases. Starfox in particular is notorious for having a low framerate but the video shows that the microconsole version isn't always 1:1 when it comes to performance.
I intended all consoles to start on the first level at the very same frame and then dragged the video timeline back to the scramble sequence. It's interesting to see that Microconsole version speeds up near the end of the scene.
Then at the start of the first level, the mini falls behind. This is only the first level and should be taken with a pinch of salt because all other levels should be tested and see if the mini can perform well.
Audio from the mini was removed at the start of the first level to make it bearable for you viewers watching.
All of the gameplay footage was done without touching the controller. Different luck was caused by framecount/actions before starting the game.
For those unfamiliar with the models:

Cartridge models were recorded in high quality by using an RGB cable and a linetripler called OSSC to upscale the footage and X Capture-1 to record it.
