My 11th Anniversary Youtube upload.

It has been over a year since my last one and this is the second video ever to not be a Mario/Zelda related version differences video (I'm excluding the Star Fox performance difference video back in September).

This one had quite a history as I did some research as early as late 2016 but it turned out to be a more challenging project than expected. Jump forward to December 2017, I decided to give it a proper go.

Important timestamps

(00:00:26) Power on & File Select
Yep, a slow-paced segment but you get to see the impact from 1994 to 2003

(00:03:36) Graphics
This segment focuses on colour palette changes and tweaks to animation loops. SNES Rambi Idle animation loop is very long.

(00:09:20) Sound effects
I usually ignore this segment when making these videos but nearly every sound effect was replaced with something new.

(00:22:01) Game mechanics, bug fixes and revisions
The SNES version of DKC 1 is pretty infamous for having an unviable speedrun version for Virtual Console/SNES Mini because it used version 1.2 (boo). Some of the changes made to the GBA release are quite hilarious.

(01:03:19) GBA exclusive content
Out of the 3 GBA DKC games, I still think this one is the best for the quality of the extra content. DK Attack mode was actually pretty good.

(01:09:14) Level design
Note: All of the SNES footage was taken from the US versions, none from the Japanese SFC versions. The GBA release is 99% based on the US version as it does not use the extra DK barrels seen the Japanese SFC version.

(01:37:26) Boss battles and endings.
This is the only entry out of the three to have notable tweaks to boss fights.
