I'm doing a couple of videos for Startropics 2, both involving the final chapter so there are some natural spoilers around. For the record, Startropics 2 has some issues, but it's an NES game and it's good enough that it couldn't have been playtested by the Hyphy Movement, the San Francisco Bay Area residents who prove that it doesn't deserve to be called the "Yay Area", the shallow girls who would say "wanna suck my pee" just to mock me, and the Oakland rioters. Actually, I'll likely LP it and Startropics 1 some day.

And here's Zoda-Z himself, with me using just the Katana and no other weapons or medicine. Naturally, he's the final boss of the game, so it's a good thing the game gives you a vitamin for instant full life. Not to mention on a normal run, you can just steamroll him with the Ultra (Broken) Psychic Shock Wave.

Of course, before you can fight the guy mano-e-mano, you have to deal with 5 Zoda spawns, only one of which is vulnerable (it's the pink one, which naturally stands out). All of them fire shots and fire shots, and the 4 invincible ones will block your attacks as well, which is a problem because you have to attack the vulnerable one from the ground. (In case you're interested, the Three-Way Shot can be used to make this phase easier.)

After the pink Zoda spawn dies, the other 4 Zoda spawns fuse together into Zoda-Z himself. This next phase, however, is very simplistic, as you have only one target to worry about, and Zoda-Z has only 2 attacks, both of which aren't terribly hard to dodge. The first is firing 4 shots at once and then another 4 right afterwards. After a round or usually 2 of this, he fires 4 big shots, none of which hurt but instead turn you into a boar--for all the good this does Zoda right now, though it is still annoying because as a boar you can't attack. Speaking of attacking, it's not too terribly hard, but make sure not to touch Zoda. No, he doesn't IK you, but the Contact Damage is still considerable.

After a definite bit of punishment, you have to deal with Zoda-Z's One Winged Angel form. He's a bigger target with only slightly more health than the previous phase, but if you think he will fall easily, here's a list of his attacks to give you an idea of how much trouble attacking him safely suddenly becomes:
*Phase 2's double-quadruple shot attack. Which makes attacking a pain. Of course, attacking becomes more critical because of the other attacks Zoda-Z has.
*Phase 2's boar shot attack. If you're careless, you can lose a good deal of attacking opportunity just to this hitting you.
*3 sudden explosions around Mike. These HURT. And just in case the explosions themselves don't hit you, usually sparks will spawn in various directions in order to try to hit you. If you see the screen flash, the telltale sign that this is about to happen, DO NOT JUMP IMMEDIATELY. Mike's bad air momentum makes it a problem to dodge the subsequent explosions. Just ground-dodge the explosions and the sparks for the first and maybe second explosions, THEN jump to deal with the third one.
*2 fire bars. This not only hurts, but it's hard to dodge unless you're watching Zoda's right arm carefully. Yeah, watch Zoda's right arm, see if it lowers because that tells you he's about to pull this obnoxious attack off, and also stay near the center as best you can for good measure.
*Spinning attack. Zoda will spin around when he does this. Not only is he invincible, but he will try to chase you in hopes of dealing Contact Damage. The good news is that this attack has ending lag, so if you dodge the whole way and can predict when Zoda will stop, you can get some nice damage on him as long as you don't whiff.

Yeah, the fire bars and sudden explosions will make sure you don't want to waste attack opportunities. Those two attacks can be evaded, but the potential problem is the player becoming tired from dodging them due to Zoda's durability.
