Steam Deck File Transfer from Windows PC through SMB (Samba) and Warpinator (Winpinator)
I'm begining a series of tutorials to show you how to mod games on the Steam Deck. Of course games that don't have native Steam Workshop support. An important part in doing this is to be able to do backup of your game files and transfer files from and to your PC. Sometimes the mods are big sizes (like it was my case here) and it's simply harder tot download and extract them directly on your Steam Deck. Of course if you have a good internet connection and lots of space on the Deck you can skip this step.
There are 3 methods:
- bluetooth (very slow)
- warpinator/winpinator (requires 3rd party apps)
- SMB (Samba) Windows PC file server (requires to create the SMB server and give permissions).
I world recommmend the warpinator/winpinator solution because it's the easiest.
