Steam Deck OLED has a larger 7.4" OLED display with HDR support. The console received a new 6 nm AMD processor codenamed Sephiroth with the same characteristics as its predecessor. The platform uses faster LPDDR5 6400 MT/s memory.
The OLED model has several more improvements: an updated Wi-Fi 6E wireless interface that supports 2.4/5.0/6.0 GHz networks, a large 50 Wh battery. Weight reduced by 30 g (5%), heat generation reduced.
The screen resolution is 1280 x 800 with a maximum brightness of 1000 nits for HDR and 600 nits for SDR. The 90Hz panel offers 110% P3 color gamut coverage. According to Valve, only the new screen will help reduce power consumption by half.
The updated Steam Deck has an improved, thicker radiator and a new fan. According to early reviews, the system operates with less noise and generates less heat.
The new Steam Deck remains compatible with accessories designed for the original version. A Limited Edition variant will also be available with a unique translucent design. The OLED version of Steam Deck is scheduled to launch on November 16th.
