This video shows you what people think is the best way to get Steam wishlists and what the reality is on average.

To put it into context, I have put out a poll on this Youtube page and asked my community what they thing which marketing way generates most wishlists. Is it the mighty blue bird of Twitter, streamers/influencers, the press, Tiktok, Reddit or something else.

The short answer is none. The crown on how to get most steam wishlists on average goes to Steam festivals. They seem do create most bang for your buck. A bit of a suprise to myself also. Does that mean all the other sources are not relevant? No, a good balanced marketing mix is key but being heavy on Twitter for example does get you the lowest yields on average.

My source/reference is Chris Zukowski and he is a marketing advisor, so take all said with a grain of salt. But this poll mentioned and discussed in the video looks like a good representation overall which method is effective and which less. His analysis takes wishlist spikes in aggregate and compares them on their effectivness from each source per input.
