I know people moan and complain "Oh it's just another wave based shooter" but I look at it this way. For developers new to VR what better way to hone their skills than to make a decent wave based shooter, they will learn so much and their next game could be the greatest VR game ever. That's why I like to show and support such titles.
My Thoughts:
A surprisingly hard and challenging shooter, with a nice art style and some cool looking enemies. Its clear from the start that this game is based around room scale and I believe the barriers you can activate to hide behind and to protect you we're added for the Oculus version of this game. Having limited space to move around in, I struggle to move out of the line of fire, this resulted in me trying to kill the enemies as fast as possible and rely on the cover mechanics to protect me.
As far as I could see the game features 3 different play areas, ranging from far to close combat. The 1 weapon you get looks really cool with a steampunk vibe and I only wished there we're more weapons to unlock. The game does give you power-ups from time to time but these only last a few seconds. If you like shooters with a challenge than this might be of interest to you. I must admit I did get that "just one more go" feeling trying to beat my own highscores.

Phinnegan's Factory is set in an original universe, The Sky-High City of Steampuff – first created by Steelehouse. We are a small studio of artists, animators and gamers working in Tulsa, OK and we've been making content for other folks for the last 17 years. For a very long time, we'd wanted to make an animated series – in 2012, we did. We created the Sky-High City of Steampuff and in doing so, created a lot of artwork and lore. When we decided to make our first game, we knew our universe and its unique aesthetic would be a fantastic VR experience – so Phinnegan's Factory was born.
