This heavily armored but surprisingly agile Paladin wields a powerful hammer, can teleport into the fray, slam and stun his enemies and use an ability that everyone will instantly recognize.
If your friends are in different time zones or just offline the new matchmaking tool will help you get paired up with new teammates to explore the first co-op map nicknamed: "Wreck Havoc". There you can try out the mission type where the objectives are to destroy convoys and take out an enemy base.
Of course if you just want to have solo fun in 1v1 matches, this beta will let you enjoy that too with the new competitive ranking system and once you get stomped on or pull off that satisfying win you can relive it using the replay tool. Do note, 1v1 matches don’t feature heroes in them. There is a fresh map to play this mode on, called "Secluded Grove" and do take note there have been important changes like new Vanguard Structure, Sentry Post, replacing the Sentry Turret. Its operational mode depends on the type of the unit that is manning it, providing different tactical options to deal with different threats.
The Infernal faction also has some new units. The Weaver and Flayed Dragon, while a lot of buildings and units have been changed since the alpha playtest due to player feedback and recent development. But probably the most important news about the Infernal faction is the addition of the Animus energy and Rituals. How this new mechanic works is that any dead unit, human or demonic, releases a soul or Animus and every Infernal player on the map sucks in this energy which they can spend on powerful Rituals at the Shroudstone.
I think that the developers at Frost Giant Studios have outdone themselves with not just the uniqueness of how the Infernal faction produces and uses its units but also how asymmetrical it is compared to the Human Resistance.
