So another tidbit that I am not sure if is common knowledge in the SF2 community as again im trying to keep this channel active.

One thing that is somewhat known however probably not known on a more common average level is that in SF2 after the first hit of your combo it becomes harder to combo. I dont know exact frame data so im going to try to explain what im showing here in this video and the idea of this as simply and broscience sorta way as possible.

When you first hit the opponent your very next attack you are given more leeway for your next attack to hit then for the rest of the combo. So in a way you could almost think of it as the game is giving you one extra lets say frame(since I dont know the exact number)to do your combo. However there after, it will no longer work.

This is why certain combos where if you are just practicing links in super turbo, that certain links will no longer work if youve hit a jump in before hand. You no longer get that "freebie" lets call it.

Now before ST, you got 2 freebies(and the first has more then the second freebie) before there became a set sorta hit stun. This however with the slight bit of randomness in just dropping frames however created a problem in ST. With certain moves that use to combo although totally the same from the last game now no longer combo correctly. The most classic example of this is(to me at least)kens flaming dp.

This move just does not combo correctly in ST. It is extremely iffy, which is why I show it here.

The main thing to watch out for her is NOT which ken is doing the DP.. But WHICH version of the character is being hit. I chose hyper since this is very easy to show it, beacuse you can pick classic super version(which is the ST version however under ST rules so they will not get hit), and regular super(so they will get hit)... You can see kens flaming DP hits differently, and more correclty vs the older versions of the characters. It is not Kens dp that changed, but by switching the rules of how characters are hit, this screwed over some characters and moves most noticeably been kens flaming dp in my opinon.

Of course there are other examples as I show ken can combo from lights into his fireball, but only if vs a older version of himself.

And of course there are way to many links to mention that now work that did not before. Lights to hards yadda yadda and of course tons of new combos are now possible but just trying to give a quick example so people understand why this happens. Its not so much the randomness of the game or that the characters move was made worse.. Its HOW the character can be hit that was changed.

I also chose vega beacuse thats a character random or not kens dp just does not hit him correctly at all in ST.
