Street Fighter Legacy - 30 years of Street Fighter
23This is all three of my previous Street Fighter Anthology videos combined into one, with the play order re-jigged a little, a little bit of new footage inserted and the overall look of the videos given a major visual overhaul.
Initially I was just planning on combining the three videos together (I'd always wanted them to be one complete video, but at the time I made the first one I wasn't a 'verified' YouTube user and had a 15 minute time limit on my videos), but once I'd done that, I realised I wanted to change the way certain things looked and the order they came up in, and basically I turned what should've just been a very simple video combination into something far more complicated and time consuming, not helped by my video editing software continually fucking things up along the way, constantly making transitions fade in-and-out the wrong way round (graaahhh!)
... Still, I think it turned out OK (eventually).
The idea with this video was to feature a round or two from a game in the Street Fighter series, played out in chronological order, from the first Street Fighter right up to the present day. I don't feature EVERY single Street Fighter game, but I think this covers most of the big ones (probably the most notable omission is Marvel Vs Capcom 3, for the simple reason I don't actually own it, and the Street Fighter EX games, just because I don't like them. Edit: The original videos pre-date the existence of Street Fighter 5, if you're wondering why it's absent. Plus I don't actually own it anyway....)
I don't really play any fighting games anymore, but if I had to look back and decided which game consumed more of my time than any other in the past, it would be Street Fighter 2, and by extension the Street Fighter series. I started off in the arcade, but the Sega Megadrive, and later the Sega Saturn, were where I really fine tuned my Street Fightin' skills.
