Wow! First time in 50Hz, the refresh rate everybody hates.
I don't care much for Streets Of Rage 2's soundtrack, I personally prefer the first but I decided to put it up for you guys that love this so very much. But don't expect me to do the third installment because i'm not doing it, it's awful and it wasn't even optimised in 50Hz.
After a successful house/dance soundtrack to Streets Of Rage in 1991, a sequel was developed in 1992 which featured yet again legendary Yuzo Koshiro now composing and mixing alongside Motohiro Kawashima who was more into hardcore techno. The soundtrack to Streets Of Rage 2 shows that a different direction was becoming more and more noticable in the music. The music of Streets Of Rage 2 now starts to shift away from the dancy/house tunes of the first installment and moves more towards what was yet to come in Streets Of Rage 3.
At that time in 1992, the decision was made from SEGA to out source the sequel to an outside development company. Streets Of Rage 2 was developed by Ancient which was Yuzo Koshiro's own video game development company, it featured his sister Ayano Koshiro who did the art of the game and his mother who handled the management side of the company. The team also consisted of other members who did the programming and other stuff, the sound driver is also from Ancient.
I recorded this from a PAL High Definition Graphics - Stereo Sound VA5 SEGA Mega Drive model 1 console through the front headphone jack, all original harmonics and sound features are present such as ''the ladder effect'' also known as (quantization noise) and the original analog headphone amp hiss. I recorded it onto a blank audio recordable CD-R disc with no quality loss and streamed it through the SEGA Mega-CD attachment to the SEGA Mega Drive. It's recorded and edited FM in redbook audio to put it another way.
