The final part of the Walkthrough for Strider on the NES...sort of. The Red Dragon is a very long and grueling level and it took me quite a few tries to get through it without dying. The playing itself takes almost exactly 10 minutes, so there's a separate video for the ending.\n\nCommentary below:\n\n0:11 - Right off the bat, the key here is to conserve your energy, you're gonna need it for the boss. 100 doesn't last long...this stage is tough and you'll probably need to heal a few times. There's a new Trick, a third Medical that heals 100 for 50 Energy, don't use it. It's too much to pay for it in here. \n0:18 - Normally you need a Jump spell to get up here, but using a Triangle Jump saves energy.\n0:52 - This jump you can make normally, I just screwed it up. Nice save, though, huh? Left ziptube leads to a dead-end.\n1:09 - Some taunting. Those ziptubes also lead to a dead end.\n1:15 - Two Sword Whirlwind Ninja! He's easier than he looks. Wait until he jumps, then hit him in the air. Then dodge his whirlwind attack. Only takes 5 or 6 hits. \n2:12 - Dr. Screenfreeze loads near here, but I know what he says, so I skip him for now. We need to destroy 2 "systems".\n2:30 - Duck and you go down the tube. Devious.\n2:47 - Traitor? Who betrayed who here? Anyways, he's the same as the others.\n3:04 - Destroying the terminals is easy. Hold up your sword for a second.\n3:43 - Ryuzukai is here again to give you a little hint on how to do this next part.\n4:00 - That's the cipher right there. Straight down is the safe point in the floor.\n4:13 - Samurai again.\n4:24 - Ooo, Sharkie's back, and now he's hard as hell. When he jumps out of the water, just do your best to beat him quickly before he knocks off 70 life. Staying crouched helps, but he likes to run into you a lot.\n4:49 - Long magnetic wall. Watch out for the grabber things, they can hurt. Remember to press down to duck (not left towards the wall), and for the love of Benji, don't jump off the wall!\n6:03 - You froze us up to tell us that? Thanks, Doc.\n6:08 - That's Doc again freezing me up while the enemy destroys me. A true pal, he is.\n6:31 - Systems already destroyed. I think this is the last time we see him.\n6:48 - Ooo, they have one of these rooms too? Anyways, more taunting ensues. Then a boss rush of sorts. Swordman, is first. Yawn.\n7:23 - Whirlwind Ninja is harder here, because of less space to manuever, plus also you walk right into him at the start. Same pattern as before, though.\n8:14 - One more Samurai...\n8:37 - Matic needs to take better care of his sword. Anyways, you want to have at least 40 energy for this fight. If you try and hit him, he'll knock your cipher away (and you'll take some damage), so you'd have to go get it. And he keeps doing it. Instead, use Fire or Spark (I use Fire) to hit him. It'll knock his cipher away instead, so you can switch back to your regular weapon and beat up on him. When he gets his sword back, use Fire again. It takes 2 or 3 cycles of this before he goes down.\n9:30 - Just had to hold me up one more time, didn't you?\n9:44 - It's a Zain without the box. Beat it the same way, just watch out for the projectiles. And you've won! Enjoy the dramatic ending.
