We begin the season wrapping up our assault of the first Lesser Phoenix stronghold. While doing so I realize that I don't really want to demolish the stronghold and let the stragglers assault me. Phoenixes can fly, and they very well might avoid my wall square that have multiple units and get into the heart of my stronghold into squares with only a single unit. They're tough enough that they might start killing units off and really causing a problem.

So once we kill everything at the stronghold, instead of demolishing it we start cleaning up the stragglers. During that time several Phoenixes head back to the stronghold and recapture it, so once our task is finished we have to assault the stronghold yet again.

We're not going to make the same mistake with the second stronghold. We march towards it with an eye to cleaning up all the stragglers first just as the season changes.
