After cleaning up all the stragglers around the Purple Worm stronghold we take on the stronghold itself. It takes half a season, as Purple Worms are no joke, but eventually we conquer and demolish the stronghold.

While we're waiting on our victory we build several more plantations. During the last winter our food production got very low compared to our population. Now we have enough food storage to get through an entire winter even if we had 0 food production, and since we've already achieved Emperor we don't really have to worry if our people are happy or not anymore, but there's still a good reason to try to keep income, food, and housing numbers up. We hit the maximum unit limit a long time ago, so as we kill off enemies we can still recruit new units if the population is reasonably happy. This can turn the maximum unit limit against the enemy - when we start wave 2 the enemy strongholds literally won't be able to grow as the world has already hit the maximum with the units we have.

After defeating the Purple Worms we continue east, taking out a stronghold of Giant Scorpions easily (one of the weaker enemies). We finish by starting our assault of a stronghold of Giant Ants.
