Summoning Ivus the Forest Lord [8.0.1] [Alterac Valley]
158It was a very long time ago I did videos about Alterac Valley. Mainly because AV weren't any fun before. But now in the prepatch, it is the first time in years that AV actually got their NPCs scaled quite well. So the first video will ofcourse feature Ivus the Forest Lord!
Who is this guy?
Back in vanilla AV you could see this rare boss mob a lot more. Reason you don't see him these (atleast before prepatch) days is that games usually went fast and people didn't bother / know about him. Ivus the Forest Lord is the Alliance side summonable boss in Alterac Valley.
How to summon:
You gather Storm Crystals from enemy corpses (horde counterpart is Stormpike soldiers blood I believe), you usually get storm crystals each second corpse you loot. Amount is between 5-20 or so. You turn them in to Arch Druid Renferal (fun fact: It is the same person as the boss Elerethe Renferal in EN)
You need 200 total. Then they will start march towards the middle as you can see. You need 10 people to channel and help summon. The Archdruid must survive until the stone is up.
Ivus marches around the middle, with a long aggro radius and very fast movement speed. After 10 minutes he starts to march to Drek'thars keep and waits outside until someone aggroes him inside to the keep.
Ivus the Forest Lord:

Abilities:
Entangling Roots: Instant cast mass root, that damages the enemy every 3 second.
Starfire: Fast cast, deals about 8-10k damage
Wrath: Fast cast, deals around 6-8k damage.
Moonfire: Instant cast, dealing X damage, aswell as damage over time.
Meele: Around 6k on leather.
This all causes him to be quite a tough boss to defeat. Let us hope we see more NPC summons now with corpse looting being more usual (Nat Pagle guide to extreme angling) and games lasting longer!
