Super Castlevania 4 play through part 11
Level 11 (Level B) is in this part.
The final level, but not the final part of this series because I had to split it in two for youtube. This level has some musical flashbacks to earlier in the series. Vampire Killer from the first game and Beginning from the third game are both played in this level.
The first segment has some skeletons that are tough to take out if you don't use the whip flail. With it, they're a lot easier. And then comes the collapsing bridge. Just moving along keeps you safe, but if you want all the single hearts along it, you have to jump whip them. Or I guess use special weapons.
The second segment has the collapsing stairs, and it can get annoying. Let go of the up button by mistake at one point, and you fall to your death or get caught by the spike wheel. You also need to know where you're going or else the wheel will tear you apart. It's a tough part to learn when you first play the game. The wheel does stop chasing once you hit the flying platforms though. It's good to know you can walk left and fall onto the next platform in line here, saves a lot of frustration with the spikes.
Slogra is the first of the three fiends to fight here, and maybe most annoying. Ducking under his spear will keep you safe at first, but when he loses it, he's dangerous. The charge move has a long reach, and you have to make a clear jump over the pillar and a well timed second jump to avoid it. I pull it off a couple times, I screw it up a couple too, and move on.
Gaibon is easy street compared to everything else here. He drops down sometimes, shoots fire directly down, and drops spikes. They all can be dodged easily, and he's open for lots of hits.
Death is the third boss. I don't have the best fight here, but it works well enough. his usual scythes are being thrown about and are the toughest part of the fight. Hitting him while he floats around the top can be tough, but you're safer with him there. When he falls down, he sucks you in towards him. You can get free hits here, but the jump over his scythe is tough and his charge across the room after is tough to dodge too.
The hallway after this fight leads to Dracula, and is one of the most eerie atmospheric things in a game of this time period.
