Encoding and decoding individual bits in a multiplexed signal, to have up to eight addresses in the same wire. As in the last signal decoding video I'm just using it for doors but I'm sure you can find more useful scenarios.

The limitation in the old variant was that only one signal could be run at the same time. The 255 channels was good and all, but if you need several signals simultanously you have to go with this variant. Combine with a bundled wire to get 128 individual addresses.

Below are the circuits I used, perhaps you can make them more compact or simpler, but it's what I used in the video. If I see a different and better design I'll update the links below with alternative versions.

First the encoding circuit (bit 1) . Just change the constant for bits 2-7 according to the video and design the bit 0 encoding circuit to have only the divider.

Then we have the first variant decoding variant, to mask out the low to high bits. Use the same design in every step:

And finally the second decoding variant to decode the highest bit first. Change the constant from 128 to 64, 32 and so on (except the lowest bit):
