In Mystery Box levels, several items and cardboard enemies will appear. You need to collect and destroy them all to make a whole bunch of Coins and a Star Coin appear. You've only got ten seconds to do what you can. Once finished, the Mystery Box will disappear, but check back occasionally because it'll return. Keep an eye out for the mystical Gold Boxes. Inside is essentially a bonus room with two Star Coins and plenty of Coins and/or extra lives.
Mystery Boxes can be swapped through StreetPass, so find a bunch of friends to trade with! Red Toad House
Walk up to the front door and go inside to find Toad with a gift. Hit the present to open it and reveal the item inside, which you can collect if you want. Exit through the door after taking it or not taking it. Choose wisely; you only get one shot, whether you take it or not. Ha, that rhymed. Blue Toad House
Inside this house - located in World 3 - is an album containing postcards you've come across during your journey. It stays where it is after you've been inside so come back whenever you like.
