Let's now move on to the principle of the game, which everyone knows but which we must remember: Mario must cross from left to right eight worlds each divided into four sub-levels in order to save the princess of the Mushroom kingdom from the clutches of the terrible. Bowser, half-dragon, half-turtle creature. Most enemies encountered can be eliminated by jumping on their heads or throwing fireballs at them. The first three sub-levels of each world end with a flag suspended from a mast on which you will have to try to jump as high as possible in order to obtain the best score, a score which in reality is strictly useless except to flatter the player's ego. The last of the four sub-levels, meanwhile, takes us to one of the eight castles of the dastardly Bowser in order to have a tough discussion with him.
