Super Mario Galaxy - Episode 5: An Icky, Sticky Situation
In today's episode of the "Super Mario Galaxy" playthrough, we turn a hungry Luma into a Yoshi planet, defeat a giant spider, and race against a cosmic clone of Mario.
For today's video, most of our time is spent clearing the remaining power stars that we can get our hands on in the Space Junk Galaxy, which include us having to use a web slingshot mechanic to defeat the leader of all of those spiders that we've been encountering, Tarantox, speedrunning the first mission as dictated by the Prankster Comet, and stomping Goomba's on a Yoshi Planet.
I swear, between the player being able to sacrifice Yoshi for a free jump in his first appearance in "Super Mario World" , subjecting him to Baby Mario's crying in "Yoshi's Island", and the Yoshi planetoid being placed in the universe's garbage pit in this game, I can't help but feel that Nintendo has some grudge against him. But hey, at least it's an easy star, so I'm not complaining.
Though speaking of stars that you get from Hungry Lumas and the web slingshot mechanic, if you're looking to grind for star bits, then head over to the Sling Pod Galaxy, which you unlock by feeding the hungry Luma outside of the Fountain Dome. Sure, it costs 400 star bits to unlock, but it's more than worth it since there are plenty of sections where you can get a lot of star bits just by sweeping your cursor over the screen a few times. And since all of the star bits respawn after you die, you can easily reach the level limit of 999 star bits if you really want to while netting a tidy profit of lives.
