Mario and the others have got past King Calamari, and they advance further till they can find Jonathan Jones and take the Star Piece from him. When they get back to Seaside Town, they learn about Speardovich, a member of the Smithy Gang and is said to be the one behind the strange events in Seaside Town.

As for the rest of the description, I recommend watching the full video before reading past this point of the description

I have beaten King Calamari, and it is time to head on, and in one room are Alley Rats on top of Bullet Bill Blasters, you can defeat the Alley Rats to stop the Bullet Bills from firing. I could go over the special moves from around Level 14. Mario learns Ultra Jump, it is like Super Jump, but the move hits all enemies at random, Mallow learns Snowy, this deals ice damage to all foes. Geno learns Geno Blast, this move hits all enemies, and one of the best special moves for random encounters, Bowser's is Crusher at Level 15, which is a single target move, but not really that good as Bowser doesn't have good magic stats, and Peach's is Come Back which revives a fallen ally, and if you get the timing, it will fully revive the ally, this is at Level 13, at Level 15 is when Peach learns Mute, this inflicts mute onto all enemies.
In one room, there is a Mario clone, you can jump on his head to get a Hidden Treasure, which is a Croaka Cola, interact with the Mario clone to fight a Greaper. There is a treasure box that turns out to be another Mimic-type enemy, this is Whuhoh, otherwise called Hidon in the SNES game, it has a lot of HP and Defense, but low Magic Defense, and it can summon four Mini Goombas, or Goombette in the original, they have good attack power for being very small, and if all Mini Goombas are down, Whuhoh can summon another set of them. Defeat Whuhoh to get a Safety Badge, this protects the user from status, I recommend equipping that to either Mallow or Peach. There is a underwater section with some Frog Coins, and one room has a Blooper with a bunch of smaller ones, and some hidden rooms, one of which has a Safety Ring, which is basically the Safety Badge, but better, it protects the user from mortal blows, elemental attacks, and negative status.
At the end, we take on Jonathan Jones' crew, the first set are Bandana Reds, they are weak to Fire and Thunder, and they attack with Skewer, while the Bandana Blues fought alongside Johnny use Pierce, Skewer deals 1.5x the normal damage, while Pierce deals 2x the normal damage. In the battle with Johnny, he is accompanied by Bandana Blues, and he uses Get Tough when his HP is below 400, he changes from blue to red and boosts his stats, and he uses Diamond Saw and Fire Saber. If you defeat all of Johnny's crew, he will fight Mario in a one-on-one battle, and after defeating him, we get the next Star Piece.
Once we leave, head back to Seaside Town, and we learn that the fake Elder is really Speardovich, a commander of the Smithy Gang, otherwise known as Yaridovich in the original game, Yari is Spear in Japanese, so I do like the name change they went with.
Then for the boss fight, Speardovich is a very tough boss fight, he has 1500 HP, and his weakness to Thunder means you will be using Mallow's Shocker for damage. He has Water Blast to deal water damage to all party members, Flame Stone hits one party member using a fire-based move, and Will-O-Wisp is a magic attack that hits one party member, and some enemies can use that move. Speardovich also has Pierce, and he can create a copy of himself, the Speardovich copy has lower stats and has 500 HP, and when you attack, it targets the real one by default, the clone uses electric magic attacks and Meteor.
After the battle, we obtain the Star Piece, but there a note from Johnny, which tells us about a ship resembling an axe, which could be the Blade that Speardovich was waiting for, and the music for Seaside Town is back, and when you rescue the citizens, the Elder gives you a Flower Box, or a Flower Jar if you refuse to give the Star Pieces to Speardovich.
Then for new items we can pick up from the shop, the Paratroopa Shell for Mario, the Parasol for Peach, the Double Punch for Geno, the Ribbit Stick for Mallow, and you can buy a Lucky Hammer, which is weaker but increases the chances of getting a Lucky Bonus Flower. One house has a Toad which gives you some items if you give him a Mushroom, and one shop has a Snifit that gives you a Beetle Box, which is where you can store Beetles, which you collect through a minigame at Booster Hill, and based on how many you caught, you can earn coins and even Frog Coins from the Snifit. I do show another cameo appearance in one of the inns, which happens after beating Speardovich, and in order to move on with the game, talk to the Elder in his house.
