With all of the bosses down, there is one more left, and Mario learns from the Frog Sage about the black door at Monstro Town, same as when he and the others last fought Culex. When they go through the door, they find Culex again, but this time he has gained the power of the third-dimension, and he is the toughest opponent in all of Super Mario RPG.

As for the rest of the description, I recommend watching the full video before reading past this point of the description

This is the hardest fight in the game, and you do need the Extra-Shiny Stone, which you obtain for beating Johnny's re-match. You will need to stock up on some items like Party Bracers and Party Energizers, and get everyone to Level 30, the best way to grind is to fight the Machine Made Speardovich clones in the Weapon World, and offscreen, I managed to get 30 Super Jumps in a row to get the Attack Scarf, which increases Mario's stats by 30 each.
Then time to take on the true final battle in the game, Culex is back and he has gained the power of the third-dimension, and that is a really cool remix of the Final Fantasy IV battle theme for the modern version of Culex's battle theme. Culex 3D is very tough, he has 9999 HP. He opens up with Meteor, which instantly defeats all party members, and he uses it again when the countdown reaches 0. He uses Shredder when the countdown hits 3, that is the best time to boost stats with Geno Boost and Party Energizers. Culex has four crystals, and for attacks, Culex himself has Dark Star, Flame Stone, and Meteor Blast. To go over the crystals, the Fire Crystal uses fire based attacks like Flare, Hot Shot, Flame, Flame Wall, and Fire Saber, and is weak to Ice attacks, defeating the Fire Crystal has it use Vigor Force, boosting the attack power of all allies before going down, you will want to defeat that last. The Water Crystal uses ice attacks, Blizzard, Crystal, Diamond Saw, Ice Rock, and Solidify, it is weak to Fire moves like Mario's Fireball, defeating the Water Crystal has it use Magic Force to boost the magic power of all allies, you will want to take that one down second. The Earth Crystal has moves like Blast, Boulder, Sand Storm, Water Blast, and Storm, and is weak to Lightning, use Mallow's Shocker to deal with that, and defeating the Earth Crystal has it use Valor Force to boost the defense power of all allies. Next is the Wind Crystal, this one has the lowest HP, but most of its moves can inflict status, and it uses some lightning-based attacks, it has Bolt, Electroshock, Light Bubble, Lightning Orb, Petal Blast, and Static Electricity. The Wind Crystal is weak to Jump attacks, and this is the one you want to take out first, and when defeated, it uses Nimble Force to give a speed boost to allies.
The best strategy is to have Mario use Super Jump to take out the Wind Crystal, Peach can help allies, and Mallow use Shocker on the Earth Crystal, and after taking out the Wind Crystal, Mario has Ultra Fireball to attack everyone while taking out the Water Crystal. One all crystals are down, it is Culex by himself, but if you take out Culex first, the crystals will sacrifice themselves to bring Culex back. Like with Bowyer, Culex can disable your commands, and when the countdown hits 0 when there are no crystals remaining, Culex uses Final Claw, this is a mortal blow that only affects one party member, the best time to use Spare-Us-All is when Culex uses Meteor, but when using Final Claw, he isn't too bad if it only affects one party member, keep attacking Culex until he is down.
For defeating Culex, your reward is a Crystal Shard, it doesn't have any effect, but it is your reward for beating Culex 3D, and one thing that I did not know about when I recorded this video is that if you talk to the Frog Sage after that battle, he will call you "Mario Sage". Culex even keeps count on how many turns it took to beat him, and if you defeat Smithy after beating Culex 3D, certain bosses will appear with other characters in the ending, that is one thing you want to search up on YouTube as I don't want to have to take on Smithy again just to see the differences in the ending cutscenes.
