A new update has come to Game Boy Advance - Nintendo Switch Online, and it is F-Zero: Maximum Velocity, and this update tied in with the F-Zero 99 update. To go over F-Zero: Maximum Velocity, this game released in 2001 for the Game Boy Advance, and it uses the style from the original F-Zero for the SNES, and this game does not feature the usual characters like Captain Falcon, Samurai Goroh, or Dr. Stewart, this game takes place 25 years after F-Zero.
This game introduces new pilots and machines, and some new tracks, this makes it the only F-Zero game to not feature tracks like Mute City, Big Blue, Port Town, Fire Field, some of the tracks you might be familiar with in the F-Zero series. You start with four machines, the Hot Violet, which is a balanced machine, like the Blue Falcon in the F-Zero games. The Fire Ball, which is a fast vehicle, but doesn't have the best acceleration, J.B. Crystal has good acceleration and a great boost, but is average in cornering, and Wind Walker, which is kind of slow and isn't the most resilient, but has good boost and decent acceleration. You do unlock more F-Zero machines for completing the Grand Prix on various difficulty settings.
I take on the Pawn Class, which is said to be the easiest out of the F-Zero Grand Prix, and to go over F-Zero: Maximum Velocity, I am not a fan of this game, but I do like the music for some of the tracks in this game. This game did get re-released on the 3DS Virtual Console as one of the 10 GBA games that you could get for free if you were a member of the Nintendo 3DS Ambassador Programme, and it was re-released on the Wii U Virtual Console. While I do like F-Zero, Maximum Velocity is not one of my favourite games, while it is good to see new machines and not have the usual ones, as well as new tracks, and in races, you have to race 5 laps and try to rank as high as you can during the race, much like F-Zero for the SNES.
