Super Robot Wars A (スーパーロボット大戦A, Sūpā Robotto Taisen Ē) is a video game for the Nintendo Game Boy Advance, part of Banpresto's Super Robot Wars franchise and the first to appear on the Game Boy Advance handheld; the letter "A" in the title stands for "Advance". It was ported onto mobile phones as part of the Super Robot Wars collection in 2006. An enhanced remake of Super Robot Wars A was released for the PlayStation Portable on June 19, 2008 as Super Robot Wars A Portable.

The story of Super Robot Wars A revolves around an organization called the Shadow-Mirror, which exists in a parallel world where events happened in a different way than the original game world, thus making the state of the worlds different, though a bit similar at times. Its leader, Vindel Mauser, desires a world of eternal war to make humanity improve more through war. His plan is to send his agents towards another dimension, spy on the defense forces of the world in order to make adjustments on the attack, and eventually conquer it.

The player is given a choice as one of the two possible volunteers of the dimensional jump to the parallel world from the Shadow-Mirror universe and will later discover through their own way whether the Shadow-Mirror is right or wrong.

The original robots debuting in Super Robot Wars A are based on the original robots in Super Robot Wars 64. The player's choice of the main robot, regardless whether it is a super- or real-type, will affect the beginning of the game, as well as the choice of robots deployed by the enemy.

In this chapter, the trio Kaine, Tapp, and Light planned to go to Idaho in order to save Linda, Kaine's love interest. Noin prevented him to go there alone as she thought that the trio aren't ready for real battle yet. Kaine is angered by this and his friends suggest that they go to Idaho by themselves without telling the captain. Axel overheard their conversation and his sudden appearance surprised Light as he didn't realized that Axel was there. Axel told him that he could gain some trust from Noin if he reported them and Tapp asked him if he had something in his mind. Axel asked them if he could join them in order to gain information about Giganos while hoping that it could help him recover his amnesiac mind. Kaine like the deal and told him that Axel can join them but rescuing Linda comes first. Comically, Axel agreed and said that seeing Linda would probably help him forget about the fearsome Noin (His dialogue sounds comedic enough considering how scary and firm Noin is, as an instructor). Kaine, Tapp, and Light along with Axel go to Idaho fully prepared without telling the captain. Their leaving set the alarm in the ship and Noin reported that the Dragonar Team and Axel have deployed alone. Shocked by their plan, Bright has no choice but to join the battle while Amuro wasn't really shocked about this as he had already expected that this would happen sooner or later and guessed that they probably went to Idaho to rescue everyone there (Very perceptive there, Amuro). In Idaho, Meio tried to talk to his sister, Linda that he planned to make an example to the refugees that only the best among Earthling could go to space. He told Linda to come back to the Empire with him but Linda refused as she already saw Meio, as selfish brother and she is ashamed to be his sister. Kaine is angered by how Meio know her too much despite not hearing anything behind the glass and decided to barge in and save Linda from her brother.

Note for every Super Robot Wars games: Each character has their own respective soundtrack just like the classic Super Robot Wars series. Each soundtrack's right of the game belong to their respective owner. I have no right for these game soundtracks cause they came from the game itself
