It is back to Super Smash Bros. for Wii U, and I have decided to upload some Classic Mode videos with each character, and unlike in Ultimate, or any other Smash Bros. game, Classic Mode in this game is different to others. I did upload some online matches on Super Smash Bros. for Wii U back when Miiverse was active, because back then you could use Miiverse to upload matches onto YouTube.
I play as Mario for this video, and in Classic Mode, you can set the difficulty with the Fiend's Scale, which is a reference to Kid Icarus: Uprising, a game Masahiro Sakurai worked on, and there are a bunch of things from Kid Icarus: Uprising that are in this game. In Super Smash Bros. for 3DS, you would take a set of paths, which are marked by the series, and the battle would either be 1-on-1, 2-on-2, against a Giant character, Metal character, or a four player free-for-all, and it would take place on the stage from the same series as that character. In this game, it takes place on a large playing field, and there are a bunch of character Trophies, and the stage is random, large stages never appear in Classic Mode, and if you defeat an opponent, you can have that character be a teammate in team battles, the first three rounds are against regular characters, the fourth and fifth rounds are against characters that use their alternate costumes and have custom special moves. There is a random chance that a Giant or Metal character will replace one of the characters, and defeating them does give you a reward, like a Trophy, equipment, or coins.
Round 6 is against the Fighting Mii Team on Battlefield, you fight against 20 Mii Fighters, and the last round is against Master Hand, on Intensity 3.0 or higher, Crazy Hand will appear and fight alongside Master Hand, and on 5.1 or higher, after attacking them enough times, you then fight against a mysterious being, I will go over each of the forms, on Intensity 7.0 or higher, you fight against Master Giant, then you fight Master Beast, who you would fight on Intensity 6.0 or higher, then next is Master Edges, or Master Sabres in Europe, who would be encountered first on Intensity 5.1 to 5.9, and last up is Master Shadow, who is a copy of the character you are playing as, and then after that, Master Core appears at the center of the stage, and you have to attack it enough times to defeat it, and if you leave Master Core in the middle without attacking it, in 45 seconds, it will unleash a powerful attack which will very likely KO your character in one hit. Each of the forms have fan-names, Master Giant is Sapient, Master Beast is Scorpio, Master Edges is Swords, Master Shadow is Simulacrum, and Master Core is Source, those names were used before the official names of all of the forms were revealed.
After completing Classic Mode, you earn the Trophy for that character, then the credits roll, and you can attack them to reveal the picture, and then an ending movie for that character.
As this game is the only one to have custom special moves, I could explain about Mario's custom special moves in this video, first up is his neutral special, Fireball, his first one is Fast Fireball, which is faster and weaker, while Fire Orb is larger, but it moves slower. Next is Cape, his side special, there is Shocking Cape, which does not reflect projectiles, and it has an electrical effect, and Gust Cape has low attack power and can push back opponents. For Super Jump Punch, his up special, he has Super Jump, where he jumps higher, and does not deal damage, it is better recovery, while Explosive Punch is much more powerful, but has less jump, so it's not ideal for recovery, it does flame and explosive damage. Then for F.L.U.D.D., his down special, he has Scalding F.L.U.D.D., where he shoots hot water with less range, and it deals fire damage instead of pushing opponents, and High-Pressure F.L.U.D.D. takes twice as long to fully charge, but the push effect is much stronger.
