I use Mr. Game & Watch, and his placement on the roster is different between versions, in Super Smash Bros. for 3DS, Mr. Game & Watch is the last character on the first row of characters, he is right after Wario, so the order of row 1 is Mario, Luigi, Peach, Bowser, Yoshi, Rosalina & Luma, Bowser Jr., Wario, and Mr. Game & Watch, but in this game, he is the second to last character on the first row, he is between Diddy Kong and Little Mac.
Mr. Game & Watch is an unlockable character in both versions, but then again he has been an unlockable character in every Smash Bros. game ever since his Smash debut in Melee, but I did like how he appeared as a teaser in the end of Pac-Man's reveal trailer. In the 3DS version, to unlock Mr. Game & Watch, you have to complete Classic Mode with 10 different characters or play 90 Vs. Matches, and in the Wii U version, to unlock Mr. Game & Watch, you have to complete Classic Mode on at least Intensity 2.0 or higher with 5 different characters or play 80 Vs. Matches, and in the 3DS version, you unlock Flat Zone 2 after unlocking Mr. Game & Watch, while in this game, Flat Zone X is unlocked by destroying 100 blocks in Trophy Rush as Mr. Game & Watch.
I might as well go over Classic Mode, in Rounds 1 to 3, you fight against characters using their default costumes, and in Rounds 4 and 5, you fight against characters that use their alternate costumes, in Round 6, you go up against the Fighting Mii Team, and in the final round, you fight Master Hand, or on a higher difficulty, you fight Crazy Hand as well, or against Master Core on an even higher Intensity.
As with Mr. Game & Watch, while I do like the detail with him in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, there are some moves that I preferred in this game, but I could go over his custom special moves in the description, first up is Chef, where he flings food from a frying pan, and he can fling up to five at once, and they cannot be eaten. The first custom variant is XXL Chef, where the food is massive, moves slower and causes more damage, the difference is Mr. Game & Watch can only fling up to one food at a time, the other custom variant is Short-Order Chef, which is called Fast-Food Chef in the European version, the food moves faster, but causes less damage, and up to three can be fired at once. His side special is Judge, which previously called Judgment in Super Smash Bros. Melee, and this one is luck based, because getting a 9 deals huge knockback. For the custom variants of Judge, the first one is Extreme Judge, where only 1 and 9 show up, if Mr. Game & Watch gets a 1, he will take 5% damage, and getting a 9 has less knockback than Judge, and it has a 20% chance of appearing. The other custom variant is Chain Judge, where the number does not have an effect, instead it is a multi-hit move that is based on the number displayed, for example, if a 5 shows up, Mr. Game & Watch will deal 5 hits. His up special is Fire, and for the custom variants of that move, the first one is Heavy Trampoline, which has less vertical recovery, and Mr. Game & Watch deals more damage on the way up, and the other move is Trampoline Launch, which is similar to how Fire worked in Melee, it deals more damage to any foes near Mr. Game & Watch before he is launched into the air, and it doesn't include the parachute. His down special is Oil Panic, infamously known as "The Bucket", and going over the custom variants, the first one is Efficient Panic, while Mr. Game & Watch can absorb up to three energy-based projectiles, but with Efficient Panic, it requires one projectile to fill the bucket, and it deals less damage when the bucket is emptied out. The other custom variant is Panic Overload, where the bucket has a smaller absorption area, but the attack is larger and slower.
