Super Smash Bros. for Wii U: Offline: Carls493 (Shulk) Vs. aceman (Greninja)
You wanna know what I call Shulk's Back Slash when I land it on a Greninja correctly?
"DISSECTING THE FROG!"
------------
One great mindgame I learned with Shulk a while ago involves buffering out a cancel on his Monado Arts during an animation, such has the cooldown lag on his throws.
When an opponent is at kill percentage, and Shulk is currently on Monado Buster, I can back throw the opponent, and have their back face Shulk. Since Buster reduces the knockback on Shulk's attacks, this back throw will keep his opponent close to him even at a high percentage.
This is when you press B a few times for the buffer cancel, and Shulk will automatically cancel Buster after all of the frames of his back throw have finished. This increases his knockback back to normal.
Timing himself with the opponent, if the opponent doesn't tech the ground correctly, or if they're in the air, doesn't air dodge, jump, or just simply move out of the way in time, Shulk can strike them with a correct, raw Back Slash and likely kill them as a result. Some less savvy opponents will also assume that Shulk is still in Buster mode, and possibly take the back throw to true Back Slash combo head on falsely believing that they won't die due to Buster's lower knockback. Sucks for them when that happens.
Of course, since this involves Back Slash, be careful when and where you do this at, because at 0:48, I not only missed because I timed it too late, but I was also close enough to the ledge to fall straight to my death with it.
--------------
Although I still consider myself a Fox main, I still really like using Shulk, as you can see. I'm just kinda disappointed that, even with all of the tech and potential he has, he still comes up short as a low tier due to the insane sketchiness of his frame data that still has yet to be completed fixed, and probably never will be at this point.
