Ken and Ryu shared a hard handshake that evolved into a playful arm wrestling. "Good to see you, Ken," Ryu said.
"Yeah, same here! Can't believe I was dead for a while. You got my thanks for setting me out," Ken said.
"No, it wasn't me. It was him."
Ken looked at Ridley for a long while and then turned to Ryu. "You're kidding, right. No, wait, you aren't much of a kidder." Ken sighed and chuckled rather unsure. "So, uh, thanks for doing me a solid, you...big guy." Ridley roared in Ken's face, drool hitting the blond's face. "Eww."
"It's a historic moment to see Ridley not eating someone's head off," remarked Yoshi.
"More like a miracle. Even Samus is holding back," Pikachu said, seeing Samus still wary of Ridley's every move. "I can't take all this weirdness. Can we move on through this vampire castle?"
"Yes. Dracula is waiting for us all. He must return to the world of the dead before he has a chance to move," Simon said.
"Eh, I doubt he'll get far with that monster on the move," Ivysaur said.
With Ken having been told about the news, he led the group to the roof of the building, namely a closed-off section where Dark Pit's body awaited. "...Wow, that's it? My leadership didn't last that long," Ken said, scratching his head.
"Bleh. We can turn around and pretend we saw nothing," Pit said, crossing his arms and scowling.
"No, Ken! We must save Dark Pit!" Peach said.
"I didn't say I wasn't gonna?" Ken said, confused at her reaction.
Peach blinked and giggled in embarrassment. "O-oh, sorry. It's a force of habit, I guess... No, Pit! We must save Dark Pit!" she told Pit, correcting herself. Many people rolled her eyes at her corrected words.
"But no one likes Dark Pit!" Pit said.
"He's lying. He's alright," said the Villager.
"Don't mind the guy much but I wanna sock it to Pit," Falco said.
"Our training sessions go smoother than having Pit and his loud hero lines shouting at my face," Shulk said.
"He went out of his way to get me some bananas hanging from a waterfall," Diddy said.
"My Riolu thinks he's cool," Chris said.
"He owes me fifty bucks so he needs to revive," C. Falcon said.
"He's getting into boxing with me," Mac said.
Pit looked dumbfounded. "Wait, what?! You all like HIM?! What does he have that I don't?" he asked.
Dozens began outlining the many differences between Pit and Dark Pit. The standouts were "You're more annoying," "He leaves me alone," "You wake me up late at night," "He knows when to give people their space," "You are bad at being good," "He's good at being good," "Your ego is the size of Jupiter," among many others.
"Heeey, my ego's at least bigger than Mercury," Pit said.
"That's your takeaway from all this?" PAC-MAN asked.
"Wow. From where me and Ryu come from, usually, the dark side of someone is a murderous psychopath bent on destruction. This dark side of this guy doesn't sound half-bad," Ken said.
"That is because Dark Pit is a failed double not affiliated with darkness," Marth said. "At best, Dark Pit is simply neutral, but Pit just loves to butt heads with him."
"Not my fault he drives me crazy!" Pit said.
"Okaaaaay, so, I'm just gonna rescue him, then," Ken said before engaging in combat against the possessed Dark Pit. Pit heavily discouraged the notion that he pointed his thumb down in defiance.
"I miss the old days when Pit wasn't crazy," Popo said.
"Oh, good. I'm not the only one who remembers," Sheik said.
