To the surprise of no one, the moment Ridley had reawakened, he and Samus engaged in fierce combat. Explosions, roars, claws rending rocks, blasts creating dust, and the usual myriad of chaotic collateral damage accompanied the rather useless battle as everyone else had backed off into a seemingly safe corner to watch the fight. Wario was foolish enough to get into the fray, only for the then-saner Ridley to use his own body as a flair against Samus. Besides Peach shouting for them to stop, the rest was wise not to get involved. "I know they have some nasty bad blood in them, but this is hardly the time to settle things when millions of people are dead with hope of reviving," Marth said.
"No amount of misery will stop those two, though," Chris said. "Maybe we should just leave them?"
"But our sacred rule of letting rescued people take leadership. We can't really go back on it! We obviously want the evil pirate to lead us to salvation!" Fox said, his heavy tone of sarcasm very clear.
"Fox is right! We must let Ridley lead! It's only fair!" DK agreed, much to Fox's frustration.
"But won't he eat us? He looks kind of scary," Banjo said.
"Yeah, I'm not too keen on letting a bloodthirsty pterodactyl lead me around," Kazooie said.
The group just noticed their numbers had suddenly increased out of the blue, given that a small bear with a red bird riding on his blue backpack and a quiet brown-haired man wearing purple clothing was now among their numbers. "Er, where did you three come from?" asked Nana.
"Funny story, really," Kazooie said. "Banjo's sister was coming to our home when suddenly she was blasted to smithereens by this huuuuuuuuuge beam of light. Didn't even make it past the front door."
"I'm starting to think our front door is cursed," Banjo said.
"So after Banjo grieved for about 3 minutes, we got curious about where that beam came from and blah blah blah we saw you guys getting into that hole in the sky blah blah blah we got here." Kazooie pointed at the quiet man next to them. "Oh, and this guy here tagged along. Figured he was with you all." The man named Eleven simply raised a hand and smiled a bit.
"Explain your whole deal!" Toon Link asked Eleven.
Eleven did so.
"So you and your friends were adventuring until they suffered the same fate and you also got curious about that beam of light... Alright, you're in."
"Why did you reiterate what he just said?" Sheik questioned.
"Because his story touched me to the core." People exchanged weird glances at each other.
"So are those two over there going to fight till one dies or what?" Kazooie asked, watching Samus and Ridley thoroughly ignoring them all while Wario was swung around the battle by Ridley's tail.
"That is no doubt their current mindset," Lucina said, grimacing.
"Eesh."
