"Hey," Pit offhandedly said without interest.

"S'up," Dark Pit offhandedly said without interest.

Everyone shifted their stares between both angels until someone spoke. "So, ahem, about this adventure to save the universes..." Ken trailed off.

Dark Pit grasped his neck and spun it around once. "So what's going on? Didn't you beat that monster after I last saw you?" he asked, before being told about the news. "Figures this thing wasn't going to end that easily... Fine, I'll lead."

"Pfft, like you're going to lead better than I did!" Pit said.

Dark Pit grinned. "Oooooh, you're right. Last time you led, you took us all to a nice little stroll to get Samus without much fighting done. In comparison, my stroll is going to have some action in it," he said.

"T-that stroll was nice! No one got hurt!" Pit defended.

"I tripped and bruised my knee when you said it was fine to walk on the mud," Red said.

"Besides Red!" Pit added.

"You made me look down into the abyss full of light and got me blinded for an hour," Pichu said.

"And Pichu!" Pit added.

"When you yelled to move forward through the bridge, you did so next to my ear and gave me a headache," Mac said.

"M-Mac was an accident!" Pit added. Dark Pit knew this was going to last for even longer and so decided to resume the journey westward.

Westward of where they were, they all moved higher in the castle, reaching a tower with a large number of shadows blocking the path around a giant clockwork setting full of large twisting gears, levers, and cannonballs. "Ugh. I can't believe I'm saying this, but I wish Wario was here to get this solved!" Daisy said.

"Where is Wario?" Samus asked.

"You and Ridley abused the poor guy during your little feud, and we left him behind because he smelled," Popo dully said. Samus didn't really remember Wario being involved in the feud, but Ridley's suspicious chuckles cast some doubt on his memories.

"T-there are way too many shadows and so many ways to proceed... How do we get past?" Isabelle asked.

"Trial and error, obviously," Dark Pit said. "When one thing doesn't work, you try the next thing in a different order. C'mon, this shouldn't be too hard."

~ 1 hour later... ~

"And if use the cannon high above and then use the one down bel-"

"No, Peach, we already did it in that order. We should begin with the cannon in the middle, use the lever on to-"

"Stupid plumber! We did that order already! The one cannon down below is the fishy one! It doesn't do anything, so it's got to have some importance!"

"Bowser, please. That one cannon is the odd one that doesn't have any effect. We have already tested that using the level to change the flipper it's facing."

"Pardon me, Hero-King, but I believe destroying the clockwork is the right thing to do."

"B-but what about that one shadow surviving above that ladder we can't reach, Lucina? I-I feel like we're doing something wrong or forgetting about an order..."

"What order would that be, Lucas? Nothing we've done so far does anything to hit that one shadow blocking the path!"

"Pit, stop smacking your head into the wall. That won't help you solve the puzzle."

"Oh, let him do it, doctor. I'm sure he's just putting his brain back in the right angle."

"Dark Pit, that's dark, even from you."

"Oh, Ms. Fit, your words ring true."

"Hardly the time to flirt with women, C. Falcon."

"Well, it's getting tiresome to solve this puzzle, Pikachu."

"I think I have an idea how to reach that spot, Red."

"Fox, you're full of it, and you know it. Oww, my arm!"

"Falco, I thought you learned it's stupid to argue with your boss when he wants to be the leader."

"Like we need to be reminded on that, Joker."

"Wow, Kazooie. I didn't know you knew his name."

"Really? Wow, I was just winging it, Banjo. He looks like a joke to m-"

"Would you all stop wasting time thinking on that one shadow and just MOVE already?!" asked an enraged Lucario, having been fed up with everyone pulling their heads and arguing with each other about reaching that one glaring shadow they couldn't quite take out no matter the order they wanted to go for...or mistakenly repeat. Unfortunately, the argument continued, and his loud complaints went ignored.
