I play through Classic Mode with Sheik in this video, and if you are wondering why Sheik is before Zelda in the roster, despite Sheik not ever been present on Melee's character selection roster, this is likely because the Melee roster is likely based on the intro for Super Smash Bros. Melee, even though Bowser was before Peach on the Melee roster, it's the other way round in this game, because Peach was shown before Bowser in the reveal trailer for Melee, and Sheik appeared before Zelda in that, and in the demo, neither Zelda or Sheik were playable, because Sheik was revealed in the reveal trailer for Melee, and Zelda was not revealed to be a playable character back in E3 2001.
As with my Classic Mode videos, I randomize a list if you are wondering, and the fighters are displayed in order of how they are displayed on the roster. Sheik's Classic Mode route is Masquerade, and all of Sheik's opponents are characters that wear glasses, helmets, masks, or any sort of headwear to hide their identity.
To unlock Sheik, there are many different ways, and one of them is Vs. Matches, where Sheik is the 47th character to be unlocked, and she is the 5th character unlocked by completing Classic Mode with Donkey Kong or any character in his unlock tree after King Dedede.
Then for Sheik's Classic Mode route, in Round 1, you fight Meta Knight on Fountain of Dreams, in Round 2, your opponent is Captain Falcon, and you fight him on Big Blue. In Round 3, your opponent is Samus, you fight her on Norfair, then in Round 4, you fight Roy Koopa on Mushroom Kingdom U, then you fight Little Mac on Round 5, he is fought on Boxing Ring, and he uses the Wireframe Mac alternate costume with the hooded sweatshirt. In Round 6, you fight a Horde Battle against six Mii Fighters, you fight them on Final Destination, there are two Mii Brawlers, one has Majora's Mask and Skull Kid's Outfit, and the other has Hockey Mask and SSB T-shirt. The Mii Gunners have Shy Guy Mask and Butler Outfit, and the other has Ray Mk III Helmet and Ray Mk III Outfit, and the Mii Swordfighters have the Black Knight and Yiga Clan costumes, so they are references to characters that hide their identity with masks and other sort of headwear.
Next is the Bonus Stage, and after that is a battle with Master Hand on Final Destination, or if you are playing on Intensity 7.0 or higher, you do have to fight Crazy Hand as well. Sheik is the only character from The Legend of Zelda series that does not fight Ganon as the final boss of their own route, not counting Ganondorf himself, and Sheik does not go to any stages from The Legend of Zelda series in her own Classic Mode route.
After completing Classic Mode is the credits, and the music when you complete Classic Mode with Sheik is Gerudo Valley, the Smash 4 remix of that song, and you unlock the Fighter Spirit for Sheik if you completed Classic Mode with her for the first time. As Sheik's Classic Mode route is themed around characters that hide their identity, we did get some DLC characters that wear masks or headwear, Joker and Min Min are those characters, but they are DLC characters, so they don't appear in Classic Mode routes for characters on the base roster.
