This is another Tourney based on a decade, in this case, it is the 1990s, this Tourney is called Fighting in the Nineties, outside of Europe, it is called Hailing from the '90s, so this Tourney only allows characters and stages that debuted in the 1990s, so that will be around the SNES and Nintendo 64 era.
Here are the following classic characters that can be selected for this Tourney:
Yoshi, Kirby, Fox, Pikachu, Ness, Captain Falcon, Jigglypuff, Sheik, Dr. Mario, Pichu, Falco, Marth, Young Link, Ganondorf, Mewtwo, Meta Knight, Wario, Pokémon Trainer, Diddy Kong, Sonic, King Dedede, Wolf, Cloud, Richter, King K. Rool, Banjo & Kazooie, Terry
Now for the stages that debuted in the 1990s that can appear in this Tourney:
Final Destination, Peach's Castle, Kongo Jungle, Hyrule Castle, Super Happy Tree, Dream Land, Saffron City, Princess Peach's Castle, Rainbow Cruise, Jungle Japes, Yoshi's Island (Melee), Yoshi's Story, Fountain of Dreams, Green Greens, Corneria, Venom, Onett, Mushroom Kingdom II, Big Blue, Fourside, Yoshi's Island, Halberd, Shadow Moses Island, Green Hill Zone, Gerudo Valley, Dream Land GB, Mute City SNES, The Great Cave Offensive, Pilotwings, Suzaku Castle, Midgar

That is a lot of characters that can be used, and about a large number of stages from 64 and Melee can appear, this shows how long Nintendo has been at these series, even if Sonic was made by SEGA, and Cloud's game was on the PlayStation, but they did first appear in the 1990s.
Even if Spiral Mountain did first appear in the 1990s, it cannot appear, this might be due to it being a DLC stage, because I can't think of anytime where a DLC stage has been accepted in themed Online Tourneys. Mushroom Kingdom II technically debuted in the 1980s in Super Mario Bros. 2, the reason why that stage is in the Tourney is because Super Mario Bros. 2 released in Japan as Super Mario USA in 1992, and that Japan's Super Mario Bros. 2 was called Super Mario Bros.: The Lost Levels outside of Japan.
Now for the rules, this will be a 2 minute and 30 second time battle, with Final Smash Meter turned on and items set to medium, and I did not like how there were 8 participants, due to there being over 20 characters that can be selected, so it would of been better to have 16 or even more, because 8 seems to be a bit too small for a Tourney with over 20 characters.
As for the character, I ended up going with Sonic, because he did get a movie recently, so I thought it would be good to play as him for that one, and I found it weird that my bracket had two players use Sonic, and another two players use King K. Rool, and I do see some other characters used, like Banjo & Kazooie, Young Link, and Jigglypuff, so that is some good choices picked for this one.
Depending on your placement, you will earn a Spirit, and the higher you place, the better the Spirit you obtain.
For stages chosen for this one, both from Super Smash Bros. 64, well it was likely due to how many stages from 64 and Melee were in this one, so we got Super Happy Tree and Peach's Castle, they are good choices to play on for this one.
Music Played for Each Match:
Super Happy Tree: Athletic Theme - Super Mario World
Peach's Castle: Fortress Boss - Super Mario World

I will also list the character and how many players used that character.
Pikachu: 1
Jigglypuff: 1
Young Link: 1
Sonic: 2
King K. Rool: 2
Banjo & Kazooie: 1
