Big shocking confession time: that last tourney was never supposed to have happened! I was (allegedly) TRYING to crash the same tourney as some friends just to see what would happen, but you gotta pay attention first!

Anyway, we get a little reminder here that tourneys... are a little weird. If you enter a tourney but fail to commit before it even starts, you'll get a temporary ban from playing online at all for awhile. I hear it's brief, but it still feels kinda weird. (And you're not even allowed to know how many participants are queued up to join while you wait!)

---

Match #1 -- Duck Hunt
Jo [Mii Swordfighter] (YuuGiJoou)
vs. Peach (Natsu)

Yep, more narcissism... more due to the insanity of being allowed to use Miis against random strangers, I suppose. But looking at the brackets, I couldn't be alone in this enthusiasm for all the unexpected openness!

For me, I'd say the Mii Swordfighter is my weakest style overall, although being crammed into really time-critical matches would probably make the Gunner perform worse overall. All I know is that I need to practice my skills if I'm to be sworn to the sword!

For the record, there's NO sudden death in tourneys, which I guess makes sense... taking the full allotment of time per match and THEN an open-ended (even if brief) final clash on top might bog down tournaments a bit much... so, as far as I'm aware, the outcome is dictated primarily by whoever did the most damage... I guess?

---

Match #2 -- Port Town: Aero Dive
Robin (TheRealDyl)
vs. Peach (Kandi)

I keep seeing Robin, and I think if you know his/her moves well enough, he/she would be a great choice for Glorious play... or just tourneys in general.

This was a really extreme match, and I know people will use these kinds of cases to swear off items for good, but I think you just have to roll with and revel in the occasional madness for the sake of a more varied spectrum of battle conditions overall.

---

Match #3 -- Luigi's Mansion
Little Mac (B-Squared)
vs. Unagi [Mii Brawler] (Zitteraal)

The WHOLE reason why this whole experiment was conducted was because I wanted to run into these guys... and they BOTH get seeded to fight each other in the first round? Bad show! I want a refund!

---

Match #4 -- Gamer
Bowser (junior)
vs. Little Mac (Cole)

Now, on the other hand, matches can get really nuts if you've got people playing For Fun when they really don't understand (or are attempting to ignore?) the gimmicks each stage is built around. Though even then, it can quickly go either way, because stage awareness is THAT important at times.

---

Quarterfinals #1 -- Windy Hill Zone
Jo [Mii Swordfighter] (YuuGiJoou)
vs. Bang Bang [Mii Brawler] (Eddie)

I'm almost positive that this Brawler is tweaked out for some extra speed. Either that, or I really don't appreciate just how much faster the Brawler naturally is, even when I use one (or... several) (...of) myself...

---

Quarterfinals #2 -- Yoshi's Island
Robin (TheRealDyl)
vs. Charizard (Sploosh)

Depending on how well you know the particulars of characters' special moves, you may notice these guys are equipped with some fairly drastic alterations... so knowing the particulars of your own and your opponents' selections is never a bad thing.

---

Quarterfinals #3 -- Kalos Pokémon League
Mario (Erik)
vs. Unagi [Mii Brawler] (Zitteraal)

I could just be getting paranoid, but is this Mario just slightly more agile than average by enough to throw off my perception of his movements? Sure glad I'm not fighting him!

---

Quarterfinals #4 -- Mario Circuit (Brawl)
Little Mac (Cole)
vs. Robin (Noah)

Mac is the new (fallen?) champion of the mashers and Robin is the finesse-driven exemplar of overly-complex combat. Who do YOU think wins this one?

---

Semifinals #1 -- Mario Circuit (Brawl)
Jo [Mii Swordfighter] (YuuGiJoou)
vs. Charizard (Sploosh)

I'm going to assume that this Charizard's moves are intended to make spamming his specials slightly less suicidal overall.

---

Semifinals #2 -- Halberd
Mario (Erik)
vs. Robin (Noah)

I still really wonder if it's just me anymore... I don't want to fight Erik!

---

Finals -- Town & City
Jo [Mii Swordfighter] (YuuGiJoou)
vs. Mario (Erik)

I dreaded the unknown of this match (replays come AFTER gameplay, so I had no idea what could've knocked Unagi out... but now I dread it all the more because watching Erik dance around feels really hypnotic for whatever reason, imagined speed buffs or not. Like a constant one-two punch set always on TWO!

---

Anyway, I hope you can see that... this is probably an even more extreme version of why I probably won't do these much... or at least not save ALL the replays, but I kinda just went overboard for the sake of the first time and all. (For the second time!)

Heck, a numerically compelling reason is that just the match headers alone took up a good 1/5 of the whole description length allocation on its own... and this is a SMALL tourney... that didn't even fill up all the way!
