[Synopsis]

This video is a retro game play video of Super Spy which was a 1st person shooter/beat em up game from 1990 for the Neogeo by SNK.

This is a very unique type of game, it resembles a 1st person gallery shooter, but it is not. You can kick, punch, knife, dodge, and shoot in this game. You can also move side to side, forward, and backward. There was never a game quite like this one.

It was released for the Neo Geo video game console back in 1990, and like Neo Geo games it was very expensive. Neo Geo ROM cartridge games ranged cost about $300 back in the early 1990s, and Neo Geo released a CD-ROM version to lower costs. The CD-ROM version of most Neo Geo games cost about $50, and the reason why the cartridge versions cost more was because they used ROM modules. ROM is a solid state memory, and back in the 1980s and early 1990s RAM modules were very expensive. RAM is faster than ROM. ROM is faster than CD-ROMs and floppy disks. The media formats used in the 1990s were floppy disks, CD-ROM discs, and ROM cartridges.

This game is very repetitive, and it does get boring after a while. You see the same types of characters with different colored clothing. Your goal is to get the keys and reach the top floor to beat the main boss. The game is kind of a action adventure game, and it takes a lot time to beat. It isn't a linear arcade game, like Operation Wolf, Ninja Commando, Ghost Pilot, Shook Troopers, etc. You can continue a unlimited amount of times, and you don't have to start over if you do die.
All in all, it was a unique game, and it was a concept that was never tried prior to 1990.
