This is a play-through using Akuma / Gouki in the PS1 version of Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo (from Street Fighter Collection). Read on below for more information...

Akuma is a hidden final boss in this game. He is a hidden playable character.

===== Additional Information =====

---- Being a hidden final boss, he'll appear as the 12th opponent and replace M.Bison if the player plays through Arcade Mode and meets certain conditions.

---- Being a possible boss character in Arcade Mode, you get to have a mirror match against him if you select him as your character to play as.

---- When the CPU is in control of him, he is able to throw Double Air Fireballs, something the player version can never do.

---- He is of course, a head-swap of Ryu/Ken.

---- He does not have his own voice. Instead, he uses a mixture of other character's voices.

---- On the character select screen, his portrait is a black silhouette and he does not have a name.

---- In-fight, his icon image is simply a black square (it looks awful).

---- He does not have a Super Combo.

---- He is programmed into the game rather strangely, as he isn't an actual separate character in the game's data. He actually operates as an "alternative version" of Ryu.

---- The CPU version of SSF2T Akuma also has some other differences from the player version, mainly in inflicting energy depletion, hitboxes/priority, and invincibility frames. (thanks to felineki for this information)

---- He is known as Gouki in Japan.

===== About Akuma =====
SSF2T is of course, the debut game of Akuma... after all those Sheng Long rumors, jokes and April fools, Capcom got inspired by it and decided to implement Akuma as a hidden boss fight for SSF2T, and also make him a playable character. Having a new character in the game was also important because it meant there was something new to draw fans in, seeing as it was coming off the prequel SSF2, which had the exact same cast/roster.

As mentioned above, the human player version of him can only perform one air fireball, but he is still a very powerful character in the game.

===== About PS1 SSFT2/SFC =====
PS1 SSF2T is part of a 2-disc game collection called Street Fighter Collection, with the other game in the collection being Street Fighter Alpha 2 Gold. Back then, I would imagine most people bought the collection for SSF2 & SSF2T rather than SFA2G if they already had the original SFA2.

This version is a very good port of the Arcade game. Aside from the unavoidable loading times, everything else seems to be intact, which is expected considering the game is much "less-hardware-demanding" when compared to say, SFA2 or MSH. The lifebar lengths are slightly shorter than the arcade version but I can live with that.
