This is a play-through using Shin Akuma in the PS1 version of Street Fighter Alpha 3. Read on below for more information...
Shin Akuma is a hidden character in this version of the game. He appears as the final boss for Evil Ryu. He is an unlockable playable character.
===== Additional Information =====
---- His 5th Stage opponent is Adon, 9th Stage opponent is Guy and 10th Stage boss is Final Bison.
---- His pre-fight intro does not have the aura text from SFA2, instead it's now exactly like regular Akuma's one.
---- In the Japanese version of the game, his name text appears as just 'GOUKI'.
---- Even though he is technically a separate/'different' character in the game's data, he has regular Akuma's routes, interaction dialogues and ending.
---- He is not in the CPS2 Arcade version of the game.
---- The game is known as Street Fighter Zero 3 in Japan.
===== About Shin Akuma =====
He is of course, the more powerful true version of Akuma, basically the version of him where he doesn't hold back. As we all know, the stand-out aspect between him and regular Akuma is the Double Air Fireball.
Shin Akuma in SFA3 is no doubt an extremely strong character in the game, his Double Air Fireball gives him a lot of priority that it's ridiculous most of the time. However unlike in SFA2, the trajectory of them is not as advantageous, and they do not do as much energy depletion if it hits, especially if the fireballs have traveled a long distance.
Also, another thing that makes him stand out from regular Akuma is the way he performs his normal ground Fireball... it's a nice throwback to SSF2T. ; )
===== About PS1 SFA3 =====
The PS1 version of SFA3 is a superb port considering the hardware limitations of the console. It actually has MORE characters and more content than the original Arcade version.
In comparison to SFA2, the animation for the larger characters (i.e. Zangief) and heavy animation characters (i.e. Gen) is much better this time round, and that's due to the hit sparks, block sparks, dust, etc. being rendered as 3D objects, which saves video memory for more character animation frames.
The extra features and modes, especially the World Tour mode, finds it's way to other console ports. Always remember that it originated from the PS1 version!
