Super Street Fighter II X [Arcade] - OLD Zangief
This is a playthrough using "Old" Zangief (the previous SSFII version of him) in the Arcade version of Super Street Fighter II X: Grand Master Challenge. Read on below for more information...
Old/SSFII Zangief is a another version of the regular Zangief. He is a hidden playable character.
NOTE: 1 Continue used.
===== HOW TO SELECT OLD/SSFII ZANGIEF =====
On the character select screen, select Zangief with any button, and immediately input Left, Right, Right, Right and then press LP or LP + LK.
If you've done it correctly you'll hear Zangief's voice and his portrait colours will change into his original ones.

Key: 3P = all 3 Punches together; 3K = all 3 Kicks together; 270 = rotate stick/D-Pad 270 degrees
COMMAND NORMALS
-- Flying Body Press: during jumping forwards or backwards in the air, D + HP
-- Double Knee Drop: during jumping forwards or backwards in the air, D + LK/MK
-- Jumping Head Knock: jump straight up, in the air, U + MP/HP
THROWS
-- Piledriver: when close, F + MP or B + MP
-- Iron Claw: when close, F + HP or B + HP
-- Stomach Claw: when close, DB/D/DF + MP/HP
-- Brain Buster: when close, F + MK or B + MK
-- Air Toss: in the air when close, any Direction besides U + MP or HP
-- Leg Throw: in the air when close, any Direction besides U + MK or HK

===== OLD/SSFII ZANGIEF DIFFERENCES =====
As this is the old SSFII version of him, it means that he does not the Super Combo gauge, which of course means that he does not have the Final Atomic Buster. Regarding special moves, he does not have the Banishing Flat.
===== ABOUT ZANGIEF =====
Zangief is one of the staples of the Street Fighter franchise, and he is the most well-known "grappler" character regarding non-wrestling-based fighting games. He has probably reached the "Street Fighter-loses-something-without-him" status.
===== STREET FIGHTER II STORY =====
At the behest of his country's President, Zangief participates in the second World Warrior Tournament, but loses. After the tournament, dissatisfied with the outcome, returns to training in his country's wilderness, wrestling bears.

---- Old Zangief has two colour palettes. The first is the original World Warrior colours; and the second are unique colours that is specially made for Old Zangief.
---- The second unique colour palette is made specially for SSFIIX/SSF2T.
---- There is no instance in the game where the CPU is in control of Old Zangief.
---- His fighting style is based on Mike Haggar's style from Final Fight.
---- According to The Making of Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike interviews, Zangief would have been a playable character if a fourth installment of the SFIII series was made.
---- In Makoto's ending in SF3:3S, Zangief can be seen among the fighters defeated by Makoto.
---- He is known as The Red Cyclone.
