This is a playthrough using Kuroko in the Arcade version of Samurai Shodown 2. Read on below for more information...

Kuroko is a hidden CPU opponent in the game, and he is a hidden playable character only in the Neo-Geo AES home console version of it.

===== HOW TO SELECT KUROKO =====

This only works in the Neo-Geo AES Home console version of the game.

In a 2-player game, on the character select screen, input the following:

Up, Down, Left, Up, Down, Right, A

If you've done it right, Kuroko will be selected. This works for both players and mirror matches are possible. Once the match is ended it will automatically go to Game Over.

===== ANOTHER WAY OF PLAYING AS HIM =====

This will require a m0dded BIOs that allows the user to access the Debug Dipswitches. There is apparently a Dipswitch where if Dips 1-5 is set, it allows for a human player to control the CPU character... which means that if you get to fight CPU Kuroko, you can use this setting to control him. I cannot confirm this though.

Key: QCF = Quarter Circle Forward; QCB = Quarter Circle Back; HCF = Half Circle Forward; HCB = Half Circle Back; LS = Light Slash; MS = Medium Slash; HS = Heavy Slash (LS + MS); LK = Light Kick; MK = Medium Kick; HK = Heavy Kick (LK + MK)

THROWS:
- Rapid Kicks or Double Kick: when close, B/F + MS/HS/MK/HK
(the Double Kick throw is only against specific characters)

- Fireball: QCF + LS
- Jet Fireball: QCF + MS
- Double Fireball: QCB + LS
- Large Fireball: F, HCF + LS
- Forcefield Fireball: QCF, HCB + LS
- Double Snack: charge DB, then F + LS
- Electric Projectile: charge DB, then QCF + LK + MS
- Black Ball: QCB, HCF + LK + MS
- Green Slash: F + LS + MS + LK (can also hold F then press buttons)
- Perfect Slash: F + MS + LK + MK (can also hold F then press buttons)
- Flag Chain Pull: HCB + LS
- Aura Spirit: tap LK rapidly
- Doll Transformation: DB, QCF, D, DF + MK

POWER SPECIALS (requires POW gauge)
-- Super Combo: HCB, F + LS + MS

WEAPON BREAKING SUPER (requires POW meter charged)

===== ABOUT KUROKO =====

He is the referee in the background plane who referees the matches. In SS2, he gets bored and occasionally challenges the fighters.

His story is that he was forced to judge matches by Amakusa starting from the events of Samurai Shodown 1, as a result of his other brothers being held hostage. After Amakusa's defeat, he reunites with his family.

===== OTHER INFORMATION / TRIVIA =====

---- Despite his gameplay sprites not being meant to appear on the character select screen, it operates perfectly. He even has his own voice when confirmed selection. His cursor is off-screen though.

---- In a mirror match, his uses the exact same colour palette as his first one. Which means that there's nothing to distinguish between P1 and P2.

---- His weapon cannot be broken.

---- He does not seem to have a second Taunt, as nothing happens when you try it.

---- There are some graphic and text glitches in some cutscenes, as well as wrong graphics and sounds, as he is not meant to be used in single player mode. You can see an example of this starting around 19:52.

---- In the cutscenes where your character is supposed to stand on the mountain rocks, he has no sprites for these scenes. Some of the dialogue in these scenes is also wrong.

---- When against Mizuki, when her Beast Spell is inflicted onto him, there is no "animal" sprite visible. Also cannot be hit.

---- The 1P mode can be completed with him.

---- If you beat the game with her, you will get Nakoruru's ending.

---- He can appear and operate perfectly on the Continue, Game Over and Ranking screen. You can see this within the Bonus footage near the end of this video (see Chapters section below in this description).

---- He cannot be "fatality'd".

---- In his next appearance in Samurai Shodown III, he acts as a mirror match character whereby he transforms into his opponent.
