We're back to Bakugan: Defenders of the Core for one final time here on #SuperOldGameSaturday where, after completing the main story mode last part, it's time to bring down the house with a good old-fashioned Bakguan brawl. Yes, the Finale of this underrated 2010 arena fighter/stealth game/tower defense hybrid based on the popular anime series/toy line is a full look at the Battle Arena mode, where one or two players can fight with all of the Bakugan and their ability cards that you unlock in the story mode in a trio of modes. Off-screen, I unlocked every Bakugan, ability card and Bakugan upgrade via a 2nd run through the story mode (along with a useful core energy grinding trick indicated by suikathemerondoge, who requested this game for the show), so myself and the best chat on Twitch dove into the Duel, Destruction Battle and Free for All modes with every Bakugan and every ability card shown, all while we went into more memories and insights of this game, other Bakugan games, other games of developer Now Production, other arena fighting titles, the concept of this game's balance and tier lists in the multiplayer (which may surprise you as to what both look like) and more as we closed out our play of this one. I had a great time playing this one for the show and I once again thank suikathemerondoge for the request and for adding so much to the show, as well as indicating this underrated gem that's a cool pick-up for fans and newcomers to this series alike (be it on Xbox 360 where we played it, or on PS3, Wii, PSP and DS, where it's also available).
