#SuperOldGameSaturday - DuckTales Remastered (Xbox 360)

After we completed Bakugan: Defenders of the Core last week here on #SuperOldGameSaturday, I figured it was worth pulling out another licensed game of that era, though this one is based on a franchise that I grew up with and it's also our first look at developer WayForward Technologies and the first Capcom game we've played to completion on this show in a year an a half. It's 2013's DuckTales Remastered for, in our case, Xbox 360 (though it's also on Wii U, PS3 and PC and was once available on mobile devices), which is a remake of the 1989 Keiji Inafune-directed NES platformer that follows Scrooge McDuck on a quest to find treasures all around the world. In this game, though, most of the voice cast of the 1987 TV show that was alive at the time reprises their roles as these beloved characters (and yes, we gave them all their dues here) to expand out the narrative and give a few twists on the 8-bit classic. In my case, I'm not good enough at the Nintendo game (and I didn't grow up with it, believe it or not), so we played this remake, which reflects the cartoon series from the Disney Afternoon and takes us on a worldwide platforming adventure with Scrooge, Launchpad McQuack, Huey, Dewey, Louie, Webbigail, Duckworth, Fenton Crackshell, Mrs. Beakley, Gyro Gearloose and many others, including some of the series' big antagonists. I was joined by DollyFinn and the best chat on Twitch as we relived the memories of this game (and the NES original), the series, its great theme song, the Disney Afternoon that it came out of and much more, while also savoring the terrific music, voice work, graphics and gallery extras.
