[WARNING: THIS VIDEO CONTAINS HEAVY SPOILERS FROM THE MAIN STORYLINE OF BOTH KNIGHTS OF THE FALLEN EMPIRE AND KNIGHTS OF THE ETERNAL THRONE EXPANSIONS]
This video features the very last moments of the ninth and final chapter of the Knights of the Eternal Throne expansion for Star Wars: The Old Republic, The Ethernal Throne. Note that I was playing the chapter in story mode with my neutral-to-light-sided Sith inquisitor main character and that the whole thing is more of an abridged version than a full recording (I skipped a minor battle, the credits and the very last cutscene, the latter feeling like a pointless cliffhanger to me).
Since the video runs for half an hour or so, here are the links to its main highlights:
- Arrival at the Eternal Throne (1:20)
- Arrival at the Mindscape (5:07)
- Cleansing the corrupted memories (7:18)
- Vaylin boss fight (17:44)
- Valkorion/Vitiate boss fight (24:29)
- Valkorion/Vitiate defeat (26:07)
- Knights of the Eternal Throne light side ending (29:41)
There are a number of choices you have made both in the last expansion and in the previous chapters of KotET that will change how certain events will play out in the finale. For instance, if you opted to kill Arcann instead of accepting his help, he won't be there to help you in the final battle, and it's one variable of many. I can't give you a full report because, honestly, I have yet to test different approaches with the two expansions.
Vaylin is by far the most dangerous encounter in the KotET finale, especially if you put yourself in a position where you have no one to back you up. The confrontation will change drastically if you took that one dark side option during chapter VII (Into the Void) and kept Lord Dramath prisoner inside the holocron. In this case, you can use him as a temporary companion to tank Vaylin for you and have more breathing room. If you chose otherwise, while she behaves no differently thanin her duel in End Times, Vaylin can dish out a lot of damage upon you and you have to face her completely alone. In this scenario, your only saving grace are the occasional green healing memories floating around the arena: on top of healing you if you get inside them, they can inflict massive damage to the boss if she's caught inside as well.
For being the very final boss of the Zakuul storyline and one of the major antagonistic figures of The Old Republic era, Valkorion/Vitiate is an absolute pushover, especially compared to his daughter, with the majority of the fight spent activating the holocron in the right way to inflict massive damage to him. Depending on your past choices, you can also have plenty of NPC help and can use the healing memories as effectively as you did with Vaylin.
It's also worth mentioning that the very final dark or light side choice of the whole Zakuul storyline, your character willing to be either an healing pacekeeper or an emperor, has in truth very little bearing on the story itself, since the Eternal Alliance is forged regardless. The only thing changing is the general tone of the cutscene
