Switch Starlink: Battle for Atlas DDE G22, 1P gameplay, Destroy the Legion's Prime on Sonatus!
I hit the final Extractor on Sonatus head on, before I engage a greater treat, a Legion Prime. It would be my first time dealing with such. Vid timeline:
(0:00) Main Campaign. Prime Time: Destroy the 3rd Extractor.
I put my sites on the final Extractor.
Ethereal Refinery under attack by the Legion. Building secured for Electrum Shipment. Upgraded to the max.
Miner attached to the Refinery gets destroyed. I failed to realize his location was highlighted by a blue bullseye icon. So I couldn't save him.
(9:00) Arriving at the 3rd Extractor location.
The defenses of this particular Extractor lacked the Towers. But on the other hand, there where larger Cyclops on the scene. Instead of taking out the Tower guns each time the appear to expose the Core, this time I needed to take out the Ice Giants guarding it.
(15:57) Main Campaign. Prime Time: Destroy the Prime.
With the last of the 3 Extractor destroyed, I can finally set my sites on the Prime itself. I salvage as much as I can from the site and give it to a Refinery. Later change weaponry and conduct Ship and Pilot upgrades before carrying on.
(29:21) Engaging the Prime.
On my way to the Prime, I ran into Outlaw fortifications. But I disengage after realizing they where of a more advanced kind and refocus on the primary target.
Technically, a mobile resource unit with the ability to lay down Extractors, these are the backbone of the Legion's expansion efforts.
They defend themselves with an underground attack. Some type of charge is sent underground before exploding. As such, cover is of no use. But of course, the Prime calls in for reinforcements when damage is dealt to it. To do that, one has to wait into it raises one of it's legs, and hit the crystal located underneath. This is it's method of attack.
After a lengthy fight, I succeeded in damaging it, causing it to fall back. It was able to move away quite rapidly for it's size!
And that's how far I got on this vid...
