Sword of Sodan is a hack and slash video game released for the Amiga in 1988 by Discovery Software, which also commissioned a port for the Apple IIGS (but not made public until 2018). A scaled-down version for the Sega Genesis was released in 1990 by Electronic Arts (while Innerprise Software worked on the port), and in 1993 it was released for the Apple Macintosh System 7 by Bethesda Softworks.

Sword of Sodan was one of the best-selling games for the Amiga at the height of that system's popularity. The Genesis version felt like a sad attempt at making Golden Axe and making it all cool with blood and gore, and is arguably one of the worst Sega Genesis games of all-time.

The original 1988 release for Amiga got mostly favorable reviews by the magazines, with praise for the graphics, which included large, detailed sprites, unusual for that time. For the Genesis version, websites like I-Mockery or Somethingawful mocked the game for its bad graphics, annoying sound effects, frustrating controls and difficult gameplay.
