Today in Syberia 3, I had left Valesmbor, and was on my way to Baranour. While on the Krystal, we encountered ice, I was asked by Obo to activate the ice breakers. A short puzzle in the engine room that I am still surprised that I managed to do. One advance hint is, if you cannot press the button on the machine, it is probably because there is a cover on it. Another hint was from captain Obo, once it is in third gear, quickly move it down to second.
After the ice breakers were activated, we were on our way again.
Then we encountered the squid monster! I was asked to destroy the lights on the bridge. I found a crowbar on the port side, or the side with the ship's boat on. I then went around smashing the lights with the crowbar. One light required that I push a box up to it. The final light was protected by a tentacle, and after doing some searching, I found a flare that I used to distract the monster and smash the final light.
Unfortunately, this did not, deter the monster. Obo asked me to turn off the engines. This was quickly and easily done. Then he asked me to bring him a light. I found a lamp below deck near the engine room, it needed fuel. I found some vodka hidden in a book on the bridge and used this to fill up the lamp. Then I lit it with the handmade matches and took it to Captain Obo.
