This talk gives an overview of creating a relatively simple JavaFX UI for an e4 application using e(fx)clipse. Live-coding and tips and tricks along the way provide a glimpse of the possibilities of this powerful technology combination.

Act I:
In which e4 and SceneBuilder are used to quickly produce a UI.

Act II:
In which JavaFX Binding and Eclipse Databinding are used to make the UI functional.

Act III:
In which CSS is used to transform the UI from an ugly (but functional) duckling into a beautiful (and even *more* functional) swan.

This talk will be useful for anyone interested in combining the strengths of e4 and JavaFX. Since the focus is more “How do I get started?” than “How do I solve hairy problem XYZ?”, it is primarily intended for beginners.
