The goal is not necessarily to checkmate in the least number of moves but to deliver the checkmate that makes the computer "think" the least. Shorter "thinking" times are achieved by keeping the position simple and not giving the computer a lot of options to ponder. Here, the AI is manipulated into making some horrible moves, each almost instantly.
The AI in this game appears to use no opening database, thus it can be manipulated into making some very dubious pawn moves like h4, g4, f4 at the start of the game. We immediately exploit these kingside weaknesses by taking out white's knight which is the only thing stopping checkmate, and then bringing out our queen to deliver a slightly longer variation of the Fool's Mate.
