[TAS] Eyeclops beats Hoverboard Beach - Kid Chameleon
24This is based on the TAS by Favini01 where they showed how to beat Hoverboard Beach via the shortcut with Berzerker, using his 50-diamond power, "Wall of Death" • [TAS] Berzerker beats Hoverboard Beac... . So big credit to them first and foremost for giving me the idea to make this version. Both of these showcase the archer glitch, where you can get an extra midair bounce if you kill an archer before it is initialized. The diamond was collected to suppress the "No Prize" bonus and reduce lag on the score-tally screen.
What's significant about this showcase is what it means for a future hypothetical 4-Boss TAS of the game. There are two paths one could take at this point in the game:
• Devil's Marsh 1—Elsewhere 6—Devil's Marsh 2—Knight's Isle—Whale Grotto—Hoverboard Beach—Pyramids of Peril
• Devil's Marsh 1—The Caged Beasts—Crab Cove—Elsewhere 7—Hoverboard Beach—Pyramids of Peril
The second path has historically been super slow compared to the first for many reasons, but one is because without access to a Cyclone helmet, you would have to beat Hoverboard Beach the long way. But now, Eyeclops can be grabbed in Elsewhere 7 and beat Hoverboard Beach via the shortcut at a cost of only 2 diamonds! I think the first path is still faster, but this strat narrows the time gap between the two considerably.
