TBC Classic - Warlock AoE Guide - Part 1 - Gearing, Gems & Enchants
179Hey guys, these next few videos will be AoE related. I realize that I focus heavily on Single Target and boss damage since that’s typically what everyone pays attention to on the meters and of course that’s what our parses are based off of. However, and this is heavily the reason I'm doing these videos now and probably should have done this way earlier. Overall damage is king in Raids, not boss damage. Especially when the bosses are as easy as they are. I guarantee if you look at how many times your guild has wiped in Black Hyjal - yes, I said Black Hyjal. Its Black Temple and Mount Hyjal smashed togethe and it sounds much better than Mount Temple. So yeah anyway, I guarantee if you look at how many times your guild has wiped in Black Hyjal that a large majority of them were on trash packs. Raids are predominantly trash Not only that, but also mostly AoE. And as one of, if not the best AoE classes in the game, its our job to do whatever we can to do as much dmg as we can do. The faster the mobs die, the less chance of your fellow raid members dying and the faster the raid goes.
There are many factors to improving your seed damage and it’d be impossible to know exactly what you have to do without me going over all of your logs. However there are a few things that are HUGE that can help you do an absolute ton of extra damage on your seeds. From gear, gems, consumables and whatever else, i’ll try to cover it all. This will be in 2 or 3 parts to keep the videos not too long. Side note, I will elaborate more in part 2, but you should be demonic sacrificing your Felhunter for Mount Hyjal trash instead of the Succubus. The 15% dmg is wasted as you’re AoE capped and the mana regen from FH is so cozy. Its like a free seed after 2-3 ticks. Helps with less tapping. Less tapping means more seeding. Also, use Crit food. No point in Spell food for the same reason. Its 20 extra crit.
