I tried my best to capture the footage as best as I could but sometimes YouTube compression can ruin some stuff, it’s best to watch the video in 1440p or 4K. The stuff I’ve mentioned is way more noticeable in person than through this video…

Doing a quick video today. As you all may know, I got a Namco system 369 a few months back as it was cheap. Before I got the 369, I played Tekken Tag 2 on the 357C, which is a very similar model to the 369, however I noticed some differences between both systems. The 369 is NOT a repackaged 357C but its own unique system.

The 357 line of systems (GEX) seem to be using stock RSX and memory clocks on par to the retail (CEX) and unmodified dev/debug (DEX) PlayStation 3 systems. The 369 seems to have some overclocking done to the system and here’s some clips I recorded for each system to show the differences.

I’ll be using vanilla Tekken Tag 2 for my tests but the same stuff also happens on the UNLIMITED version of the game. Mostly the games both play nearly identically but on the Heihachi and Jinpachi stage has some framerate issues when doing the floor break and the cutscene that plays when Ogre appears has very noticeable framerate issues. These issues are prominent on the 357 systems but not on the 369, the game plays fine. So yeah, while the Namco system doesn’t have any more RAM or is a unique custom motherboard, it’s just a overclocked 357C…
