Terminator 2 SNES game cheats unveiled 27 years after release!
This is the console title developed by B.I.T.S. Ltd, not to be confused with the arcade game by Midway. Both were published by LJN in 1993.
Shown here is the 'auto defence' idle animation/cheat. Once activated, you leave Arnie alone for a few seconds and he takes over the reins, blasting anything that moves on auto-pilot.
This was possible from day one, but not revealed previously. The joypad sequence that enables this mode was rediscovered by one of the coders who worked on the game, Steve Howard, by reverse-engineering the ROM using a debugger and HEX viewer.
Other hidden cheats include the ability to gift yourself infinite health, the shotgun, rifle or minigun (as I've done here), instantly see the two death sequences (also included in the video) or successful game completion animation, fulfil the current mission objectives, or skip levels.
You may spot a couple of scenes that aren't from the SNES game. The problem with cheats is they don't let you kill off the hero. ;)
You'll find more information including the process required to activate these cheats (refer to page 8 in particular) here...
